Millwood Grandparents' Group

Our wonderful Grandparents’ Group is co-chaired by Mike and Claudia Hubbard.

The group’s mission is to provide grandparents with an opportunity to support the school’s mission, and to promote and maintain a strong partnership between grandparents and the school. All grandparents are welcome. We know the significant part you play in your grandchildren’s lives, and the significant part they play in yours. We welcome the chance to honor that.

Here is the annual letter to grandparents from Mike and Claudia Hubbard, outlining the major events scheduled for the year.

Dear Millwood Parents,

The 2011-2012 school year is just around the corner and we wanted to let you know the Millwood Grandparents’ Group has a exciting year planned. Of course, the most important aspect of our meetings is the opportunity for the grandparents to see their grandchildren. They will want to see them entertain us, or perhaps visit with them in the classroom or have lunch with a grandchild. We do know, most always, they leave the school with a smile on their face. We encourage you to help us get the grandparents active in our group. You are also always welcome to attend our meetings.

The dates for the meetings this school year are as follows:

October 6, 2011 December 1, 2011
February 2, 2012 May 3, 2012

All meetings start at 10:00am in Robinson Hall and conclude at 11:00am. Our agenda always has student entertainment, a guest speaker, and current updates about the school. We will also be looking for grandparents who might want to volunteer to help with various activities during the school year.

Having been associated with Millwood School for nine years, we can tell you without a doubt that grandparents that become active in our group enjoy their time spent at the school, but the grandchildren love it even more. Seeing their grandparents brings a great big smile to their faces.

We look forward to the coming school year seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
