The Millwood Parent Association (MPA) mission is to develop and promote parental involvement with the school, to help create and maintain strong Millwood Community spirit, and to provide parents a place to communicate their ideas and suggestions regarding the school.
Volunteering is a great way to get to know Millwood and other parents. It is a proven fact that children are more successful in school when their parents are involved.
You can sign up for volunteer opportunites online, just complete the form below, or contact the President or a committee chair to suggest ideas or notify them of your interest. We welcome your support and ideas!

MPA Committees 2011/2012
Teacher Appreciation
This committee arranges lunches or breakfasts, gift bags, holiday remembrances and birthday wishes for our wonderful teachers and staff.
Social Event
This committee organizes a variety of events.
Photography
Volunteer to take pictures of school events for the Millwood Yearbook and web site. Work with photographer for fall and spring school pictures.
Bobcat Shop
Volunteers are needed to work at the Millwood school store.
Holiday Gift Shop
Help students select and purchase just the right surprise gifts for the winter holiday.
Innisbrook Gift Wrap
On sale in September. Delivered in November. Help is needed tabulating orders, unloading and distributing items.
Fun Lunch
This involves communicating with vendors and coordinating lunches. As this is all done online, computer skills are necessary, in particular Excel. This would be ideal for sharing with a friend - one could do the computer work and the other work with the vendors.
Caring and Sharing
When necessary, coordinate meals, transportation, etc. for Millwood families in time of need (i.e. emergencies, births, and deaths in family).
Hospitality
Provide baked goods and refreshments, decorating, and room set up for events throughout the year.
8th Grade Banquet
Volunteer to help decorate and set up for the 8th Grade end of year banquet.
Barnes & Noble
Volunteers need to assist librarian with this annual event.
Free Money
Help organize collection of box tops and promote the use of linking cards such as Kroger and Target to support Millwood.
Sports Boosters
Help with new ideas for promoting Middle School athletics, and with the annual Sports Boosters Dinner.
Millwood Muscle Volunteer Group
Occasionally we have some heavy jobs we need help with. All dads are encouraged to sign up! |
