Millwood School has named its second Distinguished Alumnus in its 21 year history. The award was presented to Gabrielle Moore at Millwood’s June 9th Eighth Grade Graduation.

Millwood School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Eileen Atkinson is now officially Dr. Eileen Atkinson. After several years of diligent study and research, Eileen graduated on May 22, 2010 with her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from VCU's School of Education.

Millwood School’s eighth grade students took their annual trip recently to Washington D.C. They visited the Capitol, the National Archives, the war memorials and the Smithsonian Museum of Popular Culture.

Mr. Larry McClanahan, senior vice-president of Thompson, Davis, and Co, recently spoke to the Millwood Grandparents’ Group. The topic of his discussion was the effect of the presidential election on the economy and the catalysts that can have a positive effect in the future.

October has seen a flurry of activity at Millwood School. The Junior Kindergarten through eighth grade school does not limit teaching and learning to classrooms, believing that hands-on understanding and observation of a subject compliments and supports classroom instruction.
