Gifts are necessary because tuition gives your child access to more than you are paying for. At Millwood School, tuition covers about 85 percent of the cost of educating your child. In a way, every student at our school receives financial support. That's why schools need annual funds, endowments, tuition aid programs and capital campaigns.

A school's special resources drive the budget up – to attract and retain the very best teachers, keep class sizes and student-teacher ratios down, to make the school affordable and accessible to qualified students, to insure that our facilities provide exceptional learning environments and to support all our curricular and extracurricular programs. Unlike a for-profit business whose mission is to make money, our mission is to provide a superior education. Today, that is a very expensive enterprise.

How Millwood’s Development Program Helps You

Millwood’s development program is an important contributor to the school’s success, but it is not our reason for existing. Millwood exists to provide your children with a nurturing, challenging, and safe environment in which to learn. And, to give your children the tools they need to grow – and grow up. We exist for you and your family.

Our development program helps you by keeping this process as affordable as possible; by reaching outside of our school to gather additional resources; by asking more of those who have more; and by giving more to those who have less.
