Millwood Adds Experience In Coaching
Xavier Trimiew has been coaching basketball for over 30 years. Xavier is currently the President of Underground Phenoms Richmond basketball. He has served as assistant varsity coach at Hanover HS as well as Head JV Coach. He is a graduate of Averett University, where he was a four-year starter on the men's basketball team. During his basketball career at Averett, Xavier earned all Dixie Conference honors, while achieving Academic All-American status.
Xavier started his coaching career in 1986 with Reston Youth Basketball, and was a mainstay in the development of local talent in the Reston area. Such names as Grant Hill (NBA Hall of Fame), Joey Beard (Barcelona Spain Euro league), Doug Mcloughlin-Williams (Derby Trailblazers, UK) and Lansdale McAllen (Florida International) have played on teams that Xavier has coached.
Xavier returned home to the Richmond area in 2004 and has picked up where he left off developing young talent such as Jalen Hudson (Florida), Jacob Kessler (Army), Alexander Petrie (Lafayette) and Alden Parham (VMI). Xavier's coaching career has produced many winning teams, but more importantly, his players have gone on to achieve great heights on and off the court.
